I have a dire wolf. Suddenly his attack icon is missing. He still bites but when you look at your characters on the left hand side of the screen, everyone has a weapon but him.

Any ideas? I've shut down and reloaded.

Thanks.

Does this happen with all the pets or just Dire Wolf?

it just happens with the Direwolf, it still does its damage. just remember to keep feeding it and when it becomes adult ya will get a really good aura, direwolf is probably the best pet in the game in my opionion.

on a side note, i beleive this bug was fixed in broken world, cause it seems the direwolf keeps the attack in it, it just happened in DSII. anyways have fun, and dont be afraid to try the other pets, they have are pretty fun.

There's another similar bug when you play both DS2 and Broken World with either a Blood Assassin or a Fist of Stone where the weapons go missing randomly, but the characters still attack and do the same damage.

I wonder if it's related...?

I don't think this is random (I noticed it most with crossbow rangers). It seems to occur when auto-casting with a weapon equipped... The character auto-casts the spell and then returns to their (ranged / melee) attack stance but the weapon they should be holding is missing.
